I love PowerSchool. I have used other platforms but none are as easy to use as this one. The amount of features available is incomparable to other platforms.

It was difficult to understand how to use at first. But once I began using I was able to pick up many of the ticks and tips.

I like checking into Powerschool to keep an eye on my 5th and 10th grader. (The 10th grader mostly, he is in the crunch to College) It let's, you check their attendance, email their teachers and check the G.P.A. All without waiting to find out during parent-teachers conferences. That way, you can nip any problems in the bud and I am proud to say I have a straight A child because of this.

None. And I forgot to mention, you can make payments online to the student lunch account, pay for yearbooks or uniforms.

The concept of this app is great. The execution of it falls extremely short.

I don't know what is worse, this app or the fact that my school district REQUIRES it's use for students to work in any online capacity.

Powerschool managements student grades, but it also houses scheduling and demographic information so we can have in depth information on each student in one place.

Powerschool is web based and has a normal link but also a Pro version integrated that is a web app. These has more or less the same features so it would be nice to see these consolidated.

The ability to keep an eye on your kids his studies

Really difficult to point out a negative with this.

I like being able to see the grades, attendance and status of my students. It is much easier if you have only one to deal with.

The software may be really good but the implementation by our school district is challenging. I never been able to get all of my children onto the tool and each teacher uses it differently. It is near impossible to get a good feeling of the progression of my children.

I love that I can see my son's school progress and if he's in class or not. It also lets me know if assignments are missing, wow! I can also track if I need to update funds for his meal plan or other school bills.

I wish it would allow you to send messages to the teachers or scan documents that the school needed.

My son transitioned from Homeschool to Public school, upon registering him I was given a laptop. The laptop has all the student information and apps needed for e-learning, tracking, and teacher-parent communication. This software and login information was taught before taking the laptop home. I can find attendance and monitor his grades so I know when he may try to fib when I ask about his grades/test scores. Homework assignments are available also, I try to help as much as I can with those. If I am stuck, I contact his teacher. I check daily for her comments.

I like the software, it is provided at cost by his education institution. It helps me keep up with my teen.

I have used this software for years to keep up with my children's attendance and grades. This software is an excellent resource for parents. I considered myself lucky that our local school system makes this available to all students and parents!

I feel that it times you out a little too quickly and you have to log back in which is aggravating but overall not too bad.

I love the fact that it has push notifications as grades are entered. As teachers are entering grades the parents get a push notification. You can see at any given moment how your student is doing. Also, from the teacher side they make it as easy as possible to enter grades. The site is always up and responsive.

I'm sure it cost the district a pretty penny but it is good software. It can be a little confusing fir first time aprents when adding a new child to the software. Once you get past the on boarding and encorouge app usage it is good.

I was given the chance to explore this software when I started teaching at Somerton Middle School. This software helped me to appreciate the importance of technology in keeping the important records of my students - their grades. The PowerSchool is a superb and amazing software because students were able to access their academic standings from time to time. I like also its feature in which seating arrangements can be changed from time to time. With this powerful software, I could definitely say that my school records are very organized and the students were able to know their classroom performance from time to time. Different reports can also be generated in which it helps me to provide hard copy of students reports instantly.

At this point, when I explored all of its features, I like all of them. PowerSchool really empowers me as a teacher and everything I need in an online software for the teacher is in PowerSchool. The menus are user-friendly and I can easily navigate and switch from one task to another. Over-all, it has no features that I don't like.

I have used powerschool both as a teacher and an administrator. What I like most about it is how well it does its job. It literally transforms how things are done. As a teacher I loved how well it was organized, well beyond what I could keep track of on my own and provided assistance in ways I didn't know I needed them. Probably most important to me is that it did all the math for me.
As an Admin I like that it takes so much work off my plate. Whether it be managing student data or reviewing gradebooks Powerschool hold it all together.

I am not a fan of the app. I think this is becoming a common theme for me in general. The webportal and desktop app are great, but when it comes to taking something like this and making it for an ipad or even worse a phone... you lose features, visibility and my interest.

PowerSchool is a great all in one place to keep track of student data. I don't even use all of the features that this software provides because it does so much. It's straight forward and easy to use. My favorite part is that it also allows me to run various preprogrammed reports, or I can work with our IT Department to customize a report for my department when needed. I've only ever used on a management side, but I imagine that the software is just as easy to use from the parent side as well.

I do not have any complaints about this software. It does exactly what is advertised and offers tips and trainings if needed.

Although there is a learning curve to the software, once the user has mastered the elements that are most used, it is a pretty good interface. Demographics, attendance, grades, discipline and other alerts such as medical and legal are quick few click from any screen.

There is a learning curve and it can take awhile to get used to. It is also confusing to perform certain actions that are only done a few times a year (finalizing grades).

As a student user of this software, it was incredible helpful. More than anything, I just loved how it was a a nice and basic layout but also afforded users the opportunity to add notes, comments, and other things of that nature. It was also nice that there were distinctly different views/options for students, parents, and instructors.

In the 4+ years that I used PowerSchool, I never once encountered any issues. It's wonderful.

Daily functionality is decent. It is an ol system for attendance, seating charts, looking up student information, etc. The in-browser functions are simple and straight forward generally. Clean interface, streamlined user experience.

Powerschool can be buggy. Some features are slow or have issues working consistently. Biggest gripe - the grade book function. It is very slow, cluttered, and can be a pain to use. Interface cannot be customized which leads to lots of unnecessary buttons. Lots of issues connecting with servers. Does not work when there are issues with internet connectivity. Needs features like building reports for student groups, assignments, progression/growth, etc.

It is used by an immense amount of schools and school districts. It has a lot of features and components.

It is like the database programs from the 80's and 90's. It has survived so long by integrating itself so deeply into so many schools. The reason it is popular is only because it is irreplaceable in these large, districts.

The cost is exorbitant. The features often cost more to add on. Even normal, everyday procedures can be difficult and need training. Training is farmed out to businesses that charge even more money.

It has a very old interface. Nothing is graphical or visually pleasing. Often you must learn old database terms and codes to affect changes in the software.

With the amount of money they must be making, you would think they would create a new product that is easy to use, easy on the eyes, etc. But I guess then they wouldn't be able to charge all the extra fees to learn how to use it.

PowerSchool is an excellent product that provides all the needed features for any sized school. Assignments can be made and copied across courses. The grade book has multiple views to facilitate grading including assignment view, spreadsheet view, or Categories view. Grades can also be viewed by student as well. There is also a progress monitoring tool and can run various reports based on variety of inputs. Overall, PowerSchool more than covers the basics needed within a classroom and contains many advanced options for experienced users.

Without direct assistance, learning the features that a school district requires can be daunting. PowerSchool has many help options, but sometimes that are not the best learning tool when trying to learn a brand new system. Older teachers who relied on a paper grading system may struggle switching to a complex digital system such as PowerSchool.

I like PowerSchool's functionality, and being able to follow my children's grades, attendance, etc.

There were issues with getting accounts set up and linked through PowerSchool that made the experience frustrating at first. Not sure if this was a software issue or an administrator issue, but after it was resolved, the platform worked well.
