Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop offers incredible flexibility for photo editing, graphic design, and logo creation. I like how precise its tools are — especially layers, masking, and blending modes, which allow me to refine every detail. The integration with other Adobe apps like Illustrator and Lightroom also makes my workflow smoother. It’s an all-in-one platform for both beginners and professionals.

The subscription cost can be quite high for freelancers or small business users. It also requires a powerful computer to run smoothly, and updates sometimes slow down performance. The learning curve for new users can be steep if you’re unfamiliar with advanced tools

I have been using Photoshop for 12+ years, so the list of what I enjoy about it is rather long. The biggest advantage to me is the wide range of tools they offer, and how often Adobe updates these. My current favorite has been the AI Generative Fill - it has saved my photos more than a few times and has been a MUST in my toolkit!

I would LOVE an automatic update system. I find myself accidentally an update behind due to the manual nature of most updates. This is something very small, as even the "previous" version of Photoshop doesn't usually stop working (unless I find myself VERY behind... but that has only happened once) and this isn't a big issue at all.

Photoshop is an essential part of any designer's toolkit. It's a household name, and everyone has an idea of what it does. But the further you delve into it, the more productivity and time-saving tools you discover, and that is where you really start finding value in it as a busy designer.

Photoshop does have a steep learning curve and can be quite overwhelming to new users. Fortunately, this is offset by the number of tutorials, both free and paid, available online. The key for any new user is finding the workspace that suits you—having the right tools showing will make your life a lot easier.
